Design Philosophy

The team at Edumaxi does not believe in a 'one size fits all' design philosophy. Our philosophy is to engage all stakeholders through effective communication and innovative, interactive design. We believe that learning is a cyclic process rather than a once-off event or linear progression and therefore we prefer to adopt a cyclic approach to our design process.

We appreciate the diverse needs of our customers and we are flexible and willing to adjust our philosophy to suit the needs of individual circumstances or unique contexts; especially when working with clients from diverse cultural backgrounds who may have an educational philosophy which incorporates teaching and learning methodologies different to our Western perspective. However, we always refer to best practice and sound research in the project area and advise our customers accordingly if we believe there is a more appropriate solution to the one they have in mind.

Philosophy

Design process

We follow an eclectic approach to instructional design. Based on the needs of our clients and the nature of the project, we use one or a combination of design processes to achieve the desired outcome.

Our instructional design process always includes a number of quality assurance stages during which documents are peer-reviewed, proofread, edited and adjusted to ensure the materials we produce meet the expectations of the customer. At the start of any project we include a prototype design phase and allow the client time for user acceptance testing (UAT). When we agree on the project plan, we leave it to the discretion of the customer to decide whether they would like multiple UAT steps throughout the project (preferred) or one final UAT at the end. Normally, our process allows for one set of minor changes to the materials once the prototype unit has been accepted.

Process

We have robust processes in place to ensure risks are managed, e.g. academic content, systems, and relationships.

We consider the following aspects in an effort to ensure continuous improvement:
